Saving animals part 2

Man-made fibres and textiles can be manufactured and processed to mimic the appearance and properties of fur, wool, silk and leather thus avoiding the unnecessary exploitation of animals. Polyester and acrylic fibres can be made to resemble fur or wool and viscose can be extruded in fine threads to provide the luxurious feel of silk. The application of a texture and surface colour and pattern gives polyurethane and PVC the resemblance and many of the characteristics of leather.
