Stihl nylon blades

A bagged set of 12 replacement nylon blades from Stihl for the PolyCut mowing head 6-3, 20-3, 41-3. In addition to the 12 blades there is a small amount of water stored in this bag to keep the nylon blades from becomming brittle as well as a symbol on the bag referencing the added water. Nylon is hygroscopic, meaning that it absorbs water from the environment. The water absorbtion acts as a plasticiser and increases the elongation and toughness of the nylon material. Because of this, it is often recommended to submerge replacement nylon mower blades in water for a few hours before use to prevent unnecsarry breakage and increase the longevity of the blade use.
