The Ocean Cleanup sunglasses

Description

A pair of blue The Ocean Cleanup sunglasses made using ocean plastic gathered from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in 2019. These sunglasses come with their orignal packaging and pamphlet, a protective 'big bag pouch' designed to mimic the bags used to transport plastic from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, and a black 'Wilson' plastic case named after System 001/Wilson - the worlds first ocean cleanup system, trialed during the four month Ocean Cleanup campagin in 2019. A unique hinge design was used allowing the stainless steel hinges to dissasemble easily for eventual recycling and a QR code located on the inside of the left glasses arm can be used to trace your glasses if lost. All proceeds from the sale of these sunglasses go towards future garbage patch cleanup opperations. The glasses were awarded an Honorable Mention in Social Good and Sustainability during the 2021 Fast Company Innovation by Design Awards, and were a Green Product winner at the 2021, Green Good Design Awards.
