Microfibre filter starter kit

Description

A white device for filtering microfibres from laundry. The starter kit comprises: a housing top, a device holder, four screws, a hose tube, cup, 3 cartridges, and a magnetic counter. Each filter lasts for up to 20 washes. The PlanetCare external microfibre filter is installed outside the washing machine. The filter must be placed below the drain hose and the hose length should be kept at a minimum to ensure the efficiency of pumping and filtering. According to the company's website, the PlanetCare washing machine filter is the first solution that stops 90% of microfibres and takes care of the whole cycle for a completely closed loop. Each filter comes with reusable cartridges that can be simply replaced once they are full of microfibres. The filters are then sent back to the company who will properly refurbish them for future use. PlanetCare users return their used cartridges in the supplied box with pre-paid postage to PlanetCare. The organisation then disassembles the cartridge and remove the filtering medium with the fibres. This is done in a controlled environment, ensuring that caught fibres do not pollute water or the environment. At the time of acquisition (2023), the filter medium is safely stored until there is sufficient quantity to reuse or recycle. The current plan is to reuse the filtering media by converting them into insulation mats. However, PlanetCare are continuously looking for viable and adequate solutions and will always choose the best available option to reuse/recycle the fibres. Incineration or landfilling are not acceptable. The reminder of the cartridge is cleaned, fitted with a new filtering medium and shipped back to a user.
