Address and telephone index

Description

A cordless electric address and telephone index, injection moulded with a polystyrene top cover and nylon forward/backward buttons, backplate and hand turn button on the side. Manufactured in the US and dated 1966. To operate the index, the forward/backward buttons were depressed which moved the lined address paper to the desired location. A diagonal red coloured line printed onto the paper pointed to the corresponding letter moulded onto the cover, to indicate the alphabetical location of the addresses. A hinged, transparent, view cover would be lifted so that the name, address and telephone number could be handwritten in the correct place. Using Kembric automatic address paper on a roll, the unit could be wall mounted and used two D cell batteries. An on/off switch operates the light bulb. Complete with original typed instruction sheet.
