Ecover washing up liquid bottle

A 450ml bottle of Ecover washing up liquid, made from 100% post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic sourced in Europe. The bottle is injection blow moulded in polyethylene terepthalate (PET) and the lid is injection moulded in polypropylene (PP) and has a living hinge. The bottle has been designed to use less material than previously, the strength achieved through the inclusion of 21 groved ribs around the top. It also provides more functionality, allowing the bottle to be stored upside down to make it more convenient for use. It fits comfortably in the hand and references both decorative homeware and Ecover's original washing up liquid bottle. The company claim that this redesign has a 70% lower carbon footprint than if the bottle was made using virgin plastics and deliberately chose to keep the PET transparent as this is easier to recycle than coloured material.
