Description
A Transport for London Oyster card. Made from calendered polyvinyl chloride acetate (PVCA) extruded into sheet form, the card contains a 2K Desfire chip and an antenna that control payment for public transport in London. Credit is added to the card before travel which is then deducted each time a journey is made as the card touches an electronic reader on entering and leaving the transport system. First issued in 2003, this limited edition example (only 250,000 were produced) has a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the front, in celebration of the 2012 Diamond Jubilee.
