Description

A pair of packaged, red and black Alpinestars Tech 1-Z Race Gloves, from the 2000s. These gloves are designed to reduce material encumbrance and weight and to provide protection against fire. They have ergonomically positioned memory foam in their backs, leather palm and finger patches, a Velcro (R) wrist closure, and a lining made from 100% Nomex (R). Nomex (R) is a flame resistant material made of an aromatic nylon developed by DuPont. Although first marketed in 1967, it is still used by most leading racing drivers. Normally light and flexible, it carbonises and thickens on exposure to heat forming a protective barrier between the heat and the skin. In sales packet.
